Art Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria Brandner sees his basic task as presenting
on the painted surface the forces that determine our world. His continuous
analysis of people, shapes in the landscape and
architecture produces countless stimuli and pictorial discoveries. With bold
strokes of color the artist expresses his impressions of the outside world. His
alphabet of color is concentrated on the radiant primary colors red, blue and
yellow, accompanied by black and white accents as contrast. The intersection,
spanning, overlapping and wedging of the bars of color, the overlay of layers
of paint that again and again are torn apart, the transparency of the glazes,
they all combine to present to the observer the constellation of forces behind
the moving surface structure, the pushing and shoving of shapes in an
illusionary spatial order. The inclusions of white create a balance in the
interplay of artistic forces that characterize Brandner’s work. The artist
never holds back his forces, he always radiates energy, and he always hits the
core of creation. |
